Order of Christian Initiation of Adults
If you are over 18 years of age and
are not baptized and would like to become a member of the Catholic Church,
were baptized as a child into the Catholic faith but have not completed your initiation in the Church with the other sacraments of First Holy Communion and/or Confirmation, or
- were baptized in another Christian faith and want to be received into the Catholic Church
Please fill out the interest form below.
Our adult sacrament preparation will begin in the fall. More detailed information will be sent to you as the calendar is finalized. Adults in the program will receive their sacraments at the Easter Vigil on April 4, 2026.

Adult Confirmations at the Cathedral

Information for parish coordinators/DREs in the Diocese of OaklandAdult confirmations will be taking place at the Cathedral of Christ the Light on the following dates in 2026:Saturday, January 31, 10:00 am (English)Saturday, January 31, 2:00 pm (Bilingual)Sunday, April 12, 4:00 pmSaturday, April 18, 10:00 am
Registration will open soon.
Coordinators will be asked to submit candidate name, address, Baptismal information, sponsor name, and saint name (if chosen). More detailed instructions will be sent after registration.
Please note: Individuals should register through their own parish, not directly through the Cathedral.
