Effective August 1, 2023, the Mass schedule for St. Leo's is as follows: Saturday at 5:00 pm (vigil), Sunday at 9:00 am, Tuesday and Thursday at 9:00 am
The Cathedral is forming a cluster with St. Leo the Great parish and St. Patrick, West Oakland beginning July 1, 2023. A novena of Masses for fathers begins at the 11:00 am Mass on Sunday, June 18 and ends on Tuesday, June 27 at the 12:10 pm Mass. Offering envelopes are available at the concierge desk.
Members of our community will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation at the 11:00 am Mass on Sunday, May 28. Let us pray for and continue to walk with them!
Recent news stories have reported that Jeremiah York, former Director of Cathedral Liturgical Ministries and Executive Assistant to the Rector, was arrested. The Diocese of Oakland and the Archdiocese of San Francisco are holding a joint Mass for World Day of the Sick at the Cathedral of Christ the Light on Saturday, February 11 at 11:00 am. All are invited—especially those who are ill and their caretakers.
The Cathedral of Christ the Light is hosting the first ever East Bay Respect Life Mass on Saturday, January 21 at 9:00 am. Bishop Barber will be presiding. All are encouraged to then continue to the Walk For Life Rally in San Francisco following the Mass.

We have decided to indefinitely suspend the 5:00 pm Vigil Mass on Saturdays, effective November 26, 2022, the First Sunday of Advent. As we enter Respect Life Month, the bishops of California are inviting all Catholics to engage in prayer and fasting to end abortion and for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit to form the minds and hearts of California citizens to defeat Prop 1.
